22/jan/2024 - Celebrating Opening of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya

The construction and opening of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is a significant event for many Hindus. The temple is dedicated to Lord Rama, a revered deity in Hinduism, and its construction has been a long-standing and contentious issue in Indian politics and society.

The Ayodhya dispute revolves around the belief that the Babri Masjid, a mosque built in the 16th century, was constructed at the birthplace of Lord Rama, where a temple had stood earlier. In 1992, the Babri Masjid was demolished by a large crowd of Hindu activists, leading to widespread communal tensions.

After decades of legal battles, the Supreme Court of India, in a landmark judgment in November 2019, granted the disputed site in Ayodhya to Hindus for the construction of a Ram Mandir. The judgment aimed to bring closure to the decades-old dispute and promote harmony among different communities in India.

The opening of the Ram Mandir is viewed as a momentous occasion for many Hindus, symbolizing the fulfillment of a longstanding cultural and religious aspiration. It’s important to note that this event can evoke a range of emotions and perspectives, and discussions about it should be approached with sensitivity to the diverse viewpoints in the region.
